Do you know the new Office mobile app? Microsoft has announced a new Office app for iOS and Android that combines the functionality of the Word, PowerPoint, and Excel apps.
It also has other features like document scanning and note capturing among others. The app is currently available as a preview for both platforms.
At its Ignite 2019 conference in Orlando, Florida, Microsoft has sleepless a new 'Office' as a mobile app, combining your Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software into a single productivity suite.
The company has offered separate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps on Android and iOS for years, but the new software combines all three into one piece of software, just like it does on Windows and Mac.

Until now we had office mobile. The new app is available now as a beta on Android and as a public preview, through Apple's iOS Test Flight program. This allows users to create new documents, prepare presentations and generate spreadsheets, without having to download each of the applications separately.
App features
According to Microsoft, the individual applications within the suite are identical to existing versions. This means that users will not have to sacrifice anything in terms of productivity, for added convenience.
It also adds some useful features that take advantage of our mobile phone's camera in creative ways. The app has a main screen called Home, which contains all of your recent documents, recommended documents, media, and sticky notes.
It's like a news feed of everything that's happening in your cloud storage and office applications. Users can tap on any document to start editing it right from the app. I think it sounds like us, right? Google drive with Google documents, presentations and spreadsheet.
It contains a number of useful features like QR code scanner, document sharing, PDF creation and signing. These are tasks that often require jumping through different apps, but Actions puts them all in one place.
In a blog post Announcing the new app, Microsoft said:
“The new Office mobile app represents our vision of what a productivity solution would look like if it were built for mobile devices first…(It provides a simple, integrated experience that puts the tools you need to work on a mobile device at the forefront…Already Whether you use it for personal or professional reasons, Office is designed to be your powerful app for getting work done on a mobile device..
It's worth noting here that while Android users will still be able to download the beta, iOS users who haven't yet joined the TestFlight program are out of luck at the moment.
Apple only allows up to 10,000 users to join public pre-use programs for any app. And Office for iOS has apparently reached that limit. "Within a few hours of the announcement".
