Android 7.0 Nougat is now available

Multi-window

One of the main novelties of this new version is that now we can have multiple apps open at the same time and see them on the same screen. This option was available on some Samsung devices and only with some apps, but now it becomes something generalized and above all, a native function of the system, no user layers of the different brands.

New notification system

As a novelty of Android N we also highlight its new notification system, which will now be grouped by applications, so that, for example, all our WhatsApp notifications are seen together. We can also respond to messages or carry out small interactions with any app directly from the notification bar, without having to open it. A function that Apple has also announced as a novelty for its next version of iOS.

Better battery performance

This new version of the operating system, through DOZE, will be able to detect when our smartphone is not being used or is in a pocket, the applications will go into a Power saving mode that will prevent us from having to spend half our lives waiting for the plug. It will be a complementary system to the saving modes that some manufacturers already include and that came with Doze, already in Android 6. Basically it is the Doze system, improved, to reduce energy consumption to the maximum, when it is inactive and without moving for example on a table, but also detecting that we are moving with the mobile, but without using it, carrying it in a backpack or bag

En Android N also particularly noteworthy is the incorporation of 72 new emojis, a function to save mobile data, multilanguage support, and new security measures so that we can encrypt files or update applications in the background. Although Android N has already begun to reach the Nexus devices, the reality is that it will take weeks or even months before it begins to become a reality on most of our devices. In addition, it is very likely that manufacturers choose to take it only to the latest generation smartphones, leaving aside older models and low-middle ranges. That is one of the great problems of Android: the fragmentation that means that there are perhaps too many versions of the system circulating.
