In this article we are going to talk about how to edit your public profile on Google Maps. As part of its plans to give users more control over their profile pages, Google Maps is rolling out an update that allows users to take control of their profile picture and other information.
With the latest update, users will now be able to manage their public profile from within the app, thanks to a new "My Profile" tab. Google believes it will give users more control over how their contributions are seen by others on Google Maps.
The change has been officially confirmed on Android, but it's not immediately clear if it's also rolling out to the iOS version of the app.

You can also choose to hide your public contributions by going to Menu (three horizontal lines) > your profile > Profile Settings and toggling off “Show contributions on your profile”.
Until now, the "Your Contributions" option in the app's sidebar only displayed the user's name, profile picture, reviews, and ratings.
That's now changing, though, with the new profile page just starting to roll out to Maps users. This allows them to edit and manage their public profiles from within the app.
Please note that users can always edit their privacy settings by logging into their Google account on the website. But many users will appreciate the newfound ability to do so in the app itself.
The changes are rolling out slowly at the server level, which means you may not have to update your Google Maps Android app to get the new feature.
However, in case you want to keep your apps up to date, you can update to Google Maps v10.29.1 from the Play Store.
