USB Type C, what is it and what is it for
A reversible USB
USB (Universal Serial Bus) is basically a standard of cables and connections. This is used to transfer electrical energy and data, whether files, music, photographs, videos, between electronic devices, in this case mobile phones. The first standard was released in 1998, being August 2014, when the last one was released, known as USB Type C. This meant a new version, with data exchange speeds and also energy transfer, becoming the USB3.1.

A simple and small detail, but that will make us gain a lot in comfort. It will make life much easier for us, when it comes to connecting our mobile or tablet. Both to charge the battery, to synchronize it with the computer, to transfer data or make a backup.
Higher data transmission speed
Another of the strengths of USB Type C, combined with USB 3.1 technology, is that it can transmit data up to 10Gbps speed, which is twice the speed of USB 3.0. It may be the case that we have a USB Type C cable, but with USB 2.0 technology. With this, we will have a cable with new connection technology, but old in terms of data transmission. This is something that happens with the USB type C cable of the Oneplus2.
This opens up a new range of possibilities for the technology industry, which will be able to launch devices capable of charging or transmitting data at higher speeds. In any case, this speed could remain an anecdote, when the Thunderbolt 2, which could reach 20 Gbps.
Greater load capacity
The USB Type C cable also comes to increase its capacity in terms of charging power, reaching 100 Watts. So it can drive a current of 5 Amps and 20 Volts, enough to charge much more powerful batteries in less time. We will see mobile phones in the not too distant future, with batteries of more than 6.000 mAh and that are charged in less than 30 minutes.
At this point, you have to take into account and be careful with some cheap USB Type C cable. These can be very expensive if they are of dubious quality. And there are cables that work well with 2 Amp chargers. But with 3A charger, it can burn the phone. so it is best to make sure that the USB type C cable is compatible with our mobile and with the charger.
Allows changes in power supply
Imagine that you are away from home, you don't have a plug handy and your smartphone is running out of battery. You have the tablet fully charged, but you are waiting for a call, so you need to use the phone yes or yes. Well, thanks to USB Type C, the power supply can easily change, so your tablet could charge your phone. There is even talk that this type of cable would allow charging a laptop.
