Twitter radically changes its interface for Android

The differences between Android and iOS, the two most popular mobile operating systems, increase when we review one by one some of the apps more common. WhatsApp, Twitter and other similar ones have a very different interface and precisely the latter has been criticized more than once for offering a less attractive interface for the user than on iOS.

However, this will be for a short time, because in his alpha version Twitter has completely changed its appearance and we have been able to get to know it before it begins to reach platform users.

An interface adapted to Material Desing

What's new in the Twitter interface

When practically all the most popular applications have already been adapted to material design, Twitter's is late, but it's here. Thus, it seems that those responsible for the social network have finally been encouraged to apply Google's recommendations for their operating system.

In this way, we can find at the bottom of the new app, a floating button in a circular way with which we will have access to the writing of a tweet and of course to all the options for it such as publishing photos, videos or links.

At the top of the application, we can find three sections: the Timeline, interactions with other users, and private messages. This is similar to what we can find now, but the main novelty is that we can move from one section to another, just sliding your finger horizontally. If we want to access any of the other options, we will have to press the “hamburger”.

Still not solving all the problems

Although the improvements have been remarkable, this new interface It still has a bug that users have already complained about. Navigating between multiple accounts, at least with this new design in the 'alpha' phase, still requires more clicks than if we were facing the same application on an iPhone, instead of a Android mobile. However, there are still several weeks until the final version is available, then it is possible that the new Twitter app will receive some other changes, before reaching all users of the social network, who use Google's mobile operating system. .
