On the phone, one of the native applications that we use the most is called the keyboard and it's virtual. Surely you do not give it importance, above all because it is an app pre-installed by a developer, most of them are Gboard, Swiftkey, while others bet on their own, as is the case with Samsung.
Imagine that one day for a reason this is not displayed on the screen, you would lack use, both in the browser and in messaging apps, among other utilities. Obviously this rarely happens., but if it happens to you, it is best to find an immediate solution to recover the application.
¿The keyboard to unlock does not appear? This is a big problem that can happen to your terminal, unlocking is impossible if you do not have a facial unlocking or fingerprint reader, which can be on the side or on the screen, they are options on the table, as long as the keyboard does not appear on the screen .
Check which keyboard you are using
By default two are the most used keyboards, they are Gboard and Swiftkey, are not the only ones available, since there are more than twenty accessible to the user. Despite this, both have managed to gain a great position in the market, thanks to the fact that they have been installed in many manufacturers and models.
The review of which keyboard you have is extremely simple, you have to access a route in which to view the information of which virtual keyboard you use. This is usually in “Language”, then click on “Language and text input”, enter the keyboard and then "Manage keyboards" and here will come the name of it.
After watching this, you will check the keyboard that you use and if you want to change it, using Swiftkey, Gboard or another of the several available in the Play Store. The change of keyboard will take you just a minute, by downloading and installing one on the phone and choosing the default one.
The keyboard does not appear: restart the mobile
If the keyboard is not shown on the device screen, the appropriate thing to do is to restart the phone, it is necessary to go fixing this problem together with others. It is usually recommended at least one from time to time, that does not exceed two or three weeks, all this to make the device fast, it will close applications and it will kill things opened by you inadvertently at some point.
Not everything is fixed by a restart, whenever it appears you can check if you have a keyboard update or even reinstall the application. In the previous step, do a keyboard review and download the app from the Play Store, the two most used are the ones mentioned in the previous steps. Gboard and Switkey are two widely used, if you want and prefer another, try other utilities, which in this case work in the same situation.
To reinstall either, do the following:
- First thing, download Gboard or Swiftkey, both are free and available in the Play Store
- Click on one of them, it will tell you that if you want to reinstall, click yes and wait for the process to be done
- The application will replace the first, to the one installed by the specific manufacturer, sometimes it will even update the app specifically
- After this, try to open WhatsApp, Telegram or another application and go to write, the keyboard should appear again
The reinstallation has to be done like this and not from scratch, although if you install another that you do not have, you can activate the new one and have it appear on the screen. It is convenient to always have more than one, if there are two it is enough for its use, which is important in this case, especially if you want to avoid running out of any.
Kika Keyboard – Emoji Keyboard
It is one of the alternative keyboards, perhaps the third best, as long as Samsung's is not included, one of the ones you have available to install. Kika Keyboard – Emoji Keyboard is configurable, by default it usually has the basics, although the configuration is almost important in order to have a perfect app if you want to chat with your loved ones.
It is perfect if you want to use the application with WhatsApp, Telegram, browser and other applications that you use regularly, such as Signal, among many others. It shines in emojis, that's why its name, which is ideal if what you want is to launch emoticons at your loved ones, all of them important and different.
Among the things, it adds more than 5.000 emojis and emoticons, which are the ones that are accessible if you load the keyboard, very different from what you are used to. The latest update has been released on February 10 this year.
Factory restore as last option
One of the things you can do in this case is factory restore as a last option, whenever you see that there is no solution with another keyboard and none will start. Restoring will make the phone fully recovered, including the keyboard, usable in any application you are using.
The restoration in this case, it is best that you do it as follows shape:
- Reboot the device and press the power button + volume down
- Navigate with volume down and up to the one that says Wipe data/factory reset and press the power key
