OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro get better RAM management and slow-motion videos

OnePlus recently started rolling out a newer version of OxygenOS on the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro. This version brought the March 2020 security update along with a few other changes, including stable slow motion video recording.

However, at the time of launch, the other phones in the series like the 7T and 7T Pro were missing.

However, the update is now rolling out for those who own OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro. The update that the company is currently rolling out brings the same changes. Which is obvious at this point, as the devices are much more similar than one might think.

The new OxygenOS for OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro

Brings March 2020 security update, slow motion video improvements, better RAM management and more

As stated above, the changelog is almost the same. You can still watch it below.

  • System
    • Optimize RAM memory management
    • System stability improved and known issues fixed
    • Android security patch updated to 2020.03
  • Gallery
    • Improved stability for recording slow motion videos
    • Fixed randomly disappearing screenshots in Gallery
    • Now play videos with any delay

The update is currently shipping in different regions, however, this time the numbering scheme is a bit different and complicated. This is because the company maintains several region-specific builds. Therefore, 7T Pro owners in one region could receive an update with completely different numbers than others.

At the time of writing, OnePlus hasn't created the forum posts or posted the updates on its website, but the update is rolling out in stages at the moment. So you can always check if your device has received the update.

With the launch of OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro just around the corner, it's nice to see that the company is still working on providing updates on older devices. Obviously, this cycle will continue until the OnePlus 7 series of devices enters the last cycle of the update.

Have you received the latest update on your OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro? Let us know if the devices have seen a significant improvement in overall performance, below in the comments.
