Google Arts & Culture, Google application to explore exotic places, from your home

As the lockdown due to the Coronavirus keeps people indoors, many apps and services have come up with new ways to keep them busy using Virtual Reality. Airbnb introduced its "Online Experiences" to offer users personalized tours.

However, if you want to explore countries and new places in Virtual Reality from the comfort of your old couch, or new one, we recommend you try the Google Arts & Culture app.

Google's Arts and Culture application, like its website, in addition to turning your photos into masterpieces, allows you to discover new places and explore them virtually. In the time of global lockdown we are experiencing, this app can keep you entertained, while showing you various places around the world.

Now, to explore various places around the planet, all you need to do is first download the app from the Google Play store:

Developer: Google LLC

or the iOS app store and install it on your device.

After installation, open the app and sign in with your credentials. Then tap the search icon in the top right corner and type in the name of a country or place. This will give you general information about the particular country or place you searched for.

Virtual tourist visits with 360º vision

Now, it's important to note that the app does not offer a virtual tour of lesser-known places in a country. It will only provide a virtual reality experience for renowned places in a particular country.

In this way, from the search results, look for an icon with a yellow human figure. This icon indicates that the app offers a virtual reality tour of that location. Tap this icon to be transported to that location virtually from your room or lobby.

We tried the app to explore the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Kunst Historisches Museum in Wien, Australia, and we weren't disappointed at all. The app gives you a 360-degree view of places and you can tap here and there to move around virtually.

Google Places of Arts and Culture

So if you have already watched all the movies and series on Netflix, Amazon and Disney +, you can try this app to explore incredible places around the world and learn something new. Also, let us know about your virtual tours in the comments below.

Good trip, virtual!
