Many Android phones that have come onto the market in recent years, have been announced as one of the great improvements, the fingerprint reader.
Among the points in favor that stand out, it is ensured that having a fingerprint reader on your smartphone, it is safer and allows you to make payments directly from your smartphone. But the reality is that, although it may seem very attractive to us, today there is no utility for which this reader is really necessary, while devices that bring it as standard, usually have much higher prices.
Why you don't need the fingerprint reader on your smartphone
Security
The main reason why the fingerprint reader is spoken of as a wonder is security, since no one else can access our smartphone.
However, although it is true that a fingerprint reader is the only way to be 100% sure that nobody accesses our smartphone, the reality is that with a good pattern or a long password and made up of letters, as well as numbers, it is practically impossible for someone to unlock our mobile. And these are possibilities that we find in all mobiles, also in the cheapest.
Payments
Another point in favor of fingerprint readers is that they allow us to make payments directly from the mobile. But the reality is that, at least in Spain, practically no store offers the option to pay from the smartphone, so this utility at the moment we will not be able to put it into practice.
Price
The main reason that can put us back when buying a smartphone with a fingerprint reader is that its price usually goes up a lot. Although there are Chinese mobiles that come with the reader as standard, most of the devices that come with it are high-end with prices of several hundred euros.
As we have seen previously, the reader's conveniences are not that usable, so it may not be worth paying more for this utility alone.

Well, there are cheap mobiles that bring it. I have a Chinese Ulefone Be Touch 2 that cost me €126 and comes standard. The same today is not very useful, but later yes. I use it to lock the phone and block applications that contain data from my work, so some use if I give it.
