The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 brings Artificial Intelligence to budget phones

Qualcomm launched in recent days, three powerful chipsets, including Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, Snapdragon 662 and Snapdragon 460. The processors feature various AI capabilities and Qualcomm's gaming platform.

One of the most prominent features of the recently released chipsets is that they support the Indian navigation system called Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC).

It has been said that the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) had guided Qualcomm in introducing NavIC in the Snapdragon mobile chipset.

Snapdragon 460 Performance

This processor will mark the debut of the high-performance chipset in the Snapdragon 400 series. It will be used in mid-range devices and low-end models.

Snapdragon 400 series can be found in various mid-range Android phones including Redmi 8A, Huawei Y series, Moto G6, Realme C1, Redmi 8.

The Snapdragon 460 processor will improve the performance of lower mid-range mobile phones in terms of app navigation, menu loading and camera usage.

Qualcomm has stated that the Snapdragon 460 chipset will bring a 70% performance upgrade compared to the Snapdragon 450 chipset.

The latest Snapdragon 400 series chipset will be a boon for mobile gamers who want a budget smartphone to enhance their gaming experience. The chipset comes equipped with Adreno 610 GPU which is also used in Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 GPU.

As of now, there is no update from MediaTek, one of Qualcomm's main rivals, about introducing a chipset to compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460.

Phones with Snapdragon 460 chipsets will be available by the end of 2020 according to the company.
