What is Carrier Services for?
When we access the page of carrier services in the Play Store, it is difficult to know what the app can be used for. We can see meaningless screenshots, and a description that leaves nothing clear. But if we read it more carefully, we can get an idea.
Thus, it indicates that it intends to be an app that allows operators to offer services with the latest communication standards. In other words, the app would not do anything directly, but it would allow our telephone operator to offer some new communication functions in our Android mobile.
When also talking about messaging, everything indicates that it will be a second-hand application designed to offer us the RCS standard, successor to SMS and MMS, does that ring a bell?

What is the RCS standard?
The RCS standard is a new technology that would allow different applications to send messages without the need for an Internet connection. It is over, therefore, this to depend on the data rate, to be able to spend hours chatting. We will still need a connection to consult social networks or browse, but for messaging it would not be necessary.
Does this mean that by downloading it we can already chat without Internet? No. What Carrier services does is prepare your smartphone so that, when your operator decides to implement this standard, you can use it without having to change your mobile.
