Whatsapp for android has received an update on March 10, with some new features and improvements that we are going to break down. After the purchase of WhatsApp by Facebook, the first update arrives, 2.11.186, which incorporates some adjustments in terms of privacy, something that seems to be more important for the developers of the most popular Android messaging app.
We see these novelties below.
Whatsapp update, news and improvements
privacy settings
Perhaps the most noteworthy thing about this update is the advance in terms of user privacy. Now we can choose who can see our last time connected, our profile picture or our status.
These 3 options come separately and we can choose it for, only for my contacts or nobody.
To manage these privacy settings, when we are in the chat list, we press the phone's menu button and go to "Settings> Account info> Privacy" and this is where we choose who can see our personal information.
Desktop widget
Now we can insert a widget on the desktop of your phone or tablet, to quickly view recent unread messages.
Direct access to the camera
By means of a direct access icon to the camera, which we can insert on the desktop, we can take photos directly, to later share them with our friends and contacts. A way to quickly share a "here I get you, here I get you".
Pay whatsapp to a friend or relative
With this option, we can pay the annual fee to use the application, to a friend or family member who is not familiar with the payment methods. We can make the payment on Google Play, through PayPal, Google Wallet or payment link.
To use this option, we go to “Settings> Contacts” and we will see the “Pay for a friend” option. By clicking on “select a contact” we will start the payment process, either for 1, 3 or 5 years.
You have Whatsapp on Google play:
