Nubia is preparing to launch a mid-range gaming mobile phone called Nubia play 5g in China. The company has been commenting on the device on Weibo in recent days, revealing some of the phone's key specifications.

According to a recent Weibo post, the Nubia Play 5G will support 144Hz screen refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. This should result in a better gaming experience, bestial experience we would say.

Under the hood, the Nubia Play 5G will equip the Snapdragon 765G chipset. There is no information on RAM and storage variants yet. The phone will have an in-display optical fingerprint scanner.

In terms of camera, the main lens will be a sensor of48MP Sony IMX586. The device will follow a quad-camera setup at the rear. Nubia has not revealed the exact configuration of the other three sensors. For selfies, the company has equipped a 12MP camera.

The device will extract juice from the spectacular 5100 mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging. Since this is a mobile phone that will be released in 2020, it is safe to assume that it will run the current mobile operating system, Android 10.

At least on the spec sheet, the Play 5G model sounds like a good deal for users who are interested in gaming without investing heavily in a high-end gaming phone.

That said, we'll know more about pricing and availability soon when the the company will officially present the Nubia Play 5G mobile phone next week, specifically on April 21.
