The 3 most popular instant messaging applications: advantages and disadvantages

All the applications de IM have been a real revolution across last years. The personal relationships through smartphones, took a turn with the appearance of this type of communication in real time when multiple applications appeared Android offering this service.

Today we have different apps. we all know WhatsApp is it really the BEST? let's do one comparative about the most popular instant messaging applications that you can find in Google Play.

Main android applications for instant messaging:

It is undoubtedly the king of mobile phone messaging, at least in Europe, because in America, for example, it goes much more unnoticed.

The great advantage of this app is that it is widely used and this alone makes it fulfill its main task: facilitating rapid communication with our group of contacts.

In addition, it has a simple interface, it is easy to establish communication with another person and organize groups of friends around a conversation. Its users also highlight its wide range of emoticons that increase with each update and that enrich conversations.

It should also be noted that it is multiplatform, it is not only operative on Android, but also on iOS, Blackberry Os, Symbian, Windows Phone).

As negative aspects, we highlight some security flaws that even in some countries have led to complaints being filed. Another problem highlighted by some of its users: the fact that anyone who has you on the agenda knows that you have WhatsApp.

And not only that: the last time you connected; whereupon (for example) your boss may assume you were out partying last night or try to annoy you on a Sunday.

Finally: it is not free. It's only the first year.

Maybe it's the app of the future. Emerged as a result of the tsunami in Japan, the objective of its creators is that its users are never left incommunicado. That is why it is free. Its profitability lies in paying for extra applications that are far from essential for the vast majority of users.

It is focused on social networks, so it allows you to add a status (like on Facebook or Twitter) or allows you to locate contacts through networks, which WhatsApp cannot do. As a curiosity, by approaching and shaking two mobiles with Line installed, contacts can also be added.

It also allows you to configure various security features: such as deactivating the public user ID, blocking unwanted users, hiding contacts that we want to know about our status or connection...

One of its advantages can be turned into a disadvantage: it allows making VOIP calls, but many companies charge for this service if we are not connected to a WiFi network.

As a clear disadvantage, it is that since it is less widespread in Europe, we will find few users who actively use it to communicate, which is supposed to be the main objective of this type of application.

And another problem. It consumes a lot of mobile resources, which translates into a significant battery drain.

With less market share and even less time to live, like Line, it allows you to make VOIP calls.

Like WhatsApp, this application draws from the list of contacts in the phone's agenda to extend its instant messaging network, but unlike WhatsApp, the user has the power to accept or not that the other person sees it. This is a great advantage because it solves the privacy issue that we discussed with WhatsApp.

In addition, it has advanced security protocols, which is why it is considered more reliable in this regard than WhatsApp.

Against it, the fact that the stability of the application tends to fail more often than desired and sometimes leaves its users without coverage, a weak point compared to Line or WhatsApp. And lastly, as it is the least widespread network of the three, the network of contacts with this application is reduced.

In summary. The present es WhatsApp but possibly the future sea Line.

What is your experience with these messaging applications? Have you used all three instant messaging apps? Leave your opinion at the bottom of the news or in our android forum, of this or other applications to send messages.

Good morning!!! In all the topics they carry out a great job, very complete and very, very interesting for all tastes. Congratulations.... On this current topic of messaging I have tried all three, but it seems more agile and with greater WhatsApp coverage.- And a comment in the margin …when downloading Line I had problems because several undesirable spys were downloaded….I don't know, maybe it happened to me alone….For the rest, congratulations again for the great work you do…THANK YOU all….***.

Hello ! I mainly use WhatsApp despite having Line as well (which I like better) for the simple reason that Line is little known at the moment in Argentina. 🙄
