OnePlus launched its premium mobile phone. its 2020 flagship, the OnePlus 8 Pro last month alongside the OnePlus 8.
Unlike the OnePlus 8, its big brother comes with a quad-camera setup with a 48MP main lens, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, an 8MP Telephoto lens, and a 5MP exclusive color filter sensor that OnePlus claims can capture photos with filter.
However, as users found out, this OnePlus 8 Pro color filter lens gives the mobile phone an X-ray vision and has been trending on the internet recently.

Supposedly discovered by a reputed leak and concept designer, Ben Geskin, OnePlus 8 Pro's "Photochrom" filter in the camera app, allows the user to see through certain types of plastic material on numerous objects. Que?
According to OnePlus, the color filter camera helps to place the camera's filters on the final shot captured by the device.
However, in another use case, this sensor can be used in infrared photography as it can capture IR rays that are invisible to human eyes.
This feature allows the camera to see through very thin plastic sheets that do not have IR protection and are found in many electronic products such as controllers, TV remotes, and VR headsets. This reveals the devices internal circuitry and works even in the device viewer.

After the discovery of this feature, the internet went crazy about this OnePlus 8 Pro built-in X-ray vision. People even made memes about the feature like can even see through certain types of clothing, as revealed by Lew of Unbox Therapy.
The YouTuber put a box inside his black shirt and clicked on an image with the OP8 Pro's "Photochrom" mode and guess what? The box could easily be recognized under the shirt in the image taken by the color filter sensor. Therefore, this can also be a privacy issue for consumers, as see-through clothing is not an appreciable feature.
However, the fact that a mobile phone can now see through objects is quite fascinating and "X-ray" images of electronic devices look great.
