Android 11 it's here. It will still be a few months before we start receiving it on our smartphones, but the beta is already available. Of course, at the moment, not everyone will be able to try it.

But if you want to know if your mobile allows you to do it and the steps you have to follow to be a tester of the new version, we invite you to continue reading.

Android 11, the Beta version is here

Can I download the Android 11 beta on my mobile?

Although the beta of the latest version of Android is now available, not all mobiles can access it. As usual, Google gives priority for this type of thing to smartphones in the Pixel range, which are of its own creation. Specifically, the mobiles with which you can test the new features of the operating system are the following:

  • Pixel 2
  • Pixel 2XL
  • Pixel 3
  • Pixel 3XL
  • Pixel 3a
  • Pixel 3a XL
  • Pixel 4
  • Pixel 4 XL

If you have another mobile model, you will have no choice but to wait for the update to arrive on your smartphone. Which will probably take a few months to happen. And if you have a very old model, you may have to change phones to use Android 11.

How to join the beta program

While there are a few "alternative" ways to try out Android 11, joining the beta program is probably the easiest. It is a fairly simple process, similar to any other beta that you have been able to try before. The steps to follow are those:

  • Enter the beta program portal from your Android mobile
  • Sign in with the Google account associated with that phone
  • Find the device you want to install the beta on in the list
  • Follow the steps on your phone to install the update.

Once you have followed all these steps, you will have the provisional version of Android 11 installed on your device. Remember that it is a trial version, which is output simply so that users can detect possible failures. Therefore, it is possible that in its first days of use you will come across small problems that make it not work as well as it should.

What if I want to get out of the beta program?

The steps to follow to leave the beta program are practically the same as to enter it. Only that when you select the device on which you have it installed, the option to abandon it will appear. In this way, if you are not convinced by the new features or if the failures they are very annoying to you, stopping using this program will be quite easy for you.
