Most of the 5G capable phones have been launched this year at a high price, except for a couple of them, like the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G. The phone costs around $670, but it's worth mentioning that it's a revamped version of the original LTE model. Also same characteristics of this flagship at the level of internal specifications in its 4G variant.
Very recently, the company launched the Mi 9 Pro in China and it sold so well, that we are now going to see more than ten Xiaomi ready for 5G technology next year. In this way, Xiaomi wants to take advantage of the imminent growth of the 5G connectivity.
The CEO of the Chinese brand claims that there will be 10 Xiaomi 5G phones by 2020
5G is the buzzword in the industry right now and between 125 to 300 million phones are reportedly going to be sold next year. 5G is expected to become more widespread, meaning nearly 20 percent of next year's traffic will be via 5G phones.
Although the coverage of the next generation of data transmission is still limited, it is obvious that more and more networks around the world will provide additional support for the 5G standard. Speaking at the Internet World Conference, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that demand for its first 5G phone, the Mi 9 Pro, exceeded expectations in China. That is why they are planning 10 Xiaomi 5G phones by 2020.

Lei further announced that with the upcoming 5G-ready Xiaomi phones, there will be something for everyone to choose from as the company will focus especially on price. Jun also revealed that 4G phones are not expected to sell as well from next year. And as a result, producing more 5G phones is a necessity right now. The CEO hopes that operators can keep up with the growing demand and expand their base stations accordingly.
Now that Huawei has been practically pushed out of the international market, it has become more aggressive in its domestic Chinese market. Also, due to the nationalistic element, consumers tend to favor their device over other phones. This is why other manufacturers, including Xiaomi, have seen their sales decline in recent months.
More 5G-ready Xiaomi phones at all price levels may help the company not only increase its sales in its home country but also in Europe. Since consumers will probably look for an alternative to Huawei smartphones. In addition to Xiaomi, we can also expect other vendors to make affordable 5G devices, as Qualcomm's upcoming entry-level and mid-tier chipsets will have the "onboard connectivity" option.
On the premium side, Apple and Google are also expected to jump on the 5G bandwagon next year, helping to increase the overall number of 5G smartphones by 2020.
