Xiaomi launched the first 108MP penta camera phone, the My Notes 10, last year. It includes a variety of versatile cameras, along with a premium design. The company now wants to extend this to a wider audience with the launch of its little brother, the Mi Note 10 Lite in Europe.
The Mi Note 10 Lite shares some similarities with its big brother, but it comes with a completely different camera setup. That is why we are going to take a look at its technical characteristics, as well as its retail price.
Mi Note 10 Lite: specifications and features
The Mi Note 10 Lite has a 6.47-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with curved edges on both sides. The panel features a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2340 resolution, HDR10 support, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.
It doesn't support a higher refresh rate, which is sad to some extent.
Just like its big brother, this Android mobile phone also works with Snapdragon 730G chipset found on a good number of mid-range phones like the Realme X2 and the Redmi K20. This means that it is not supported by 5G connectivity.
It incorporates up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage under the hood. It runs MIUI 11 based on Android 10, even though MIUI 12 was introduced just a couple of days ago.
Also, the Mi Note 10 Lite does not feature a 108MP primary sensor nor is its camera setup as versatile as its big brother. Instead, it presents a 686MP Sony IMX64 primary sensor, along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree FOV, 2MP macro lens, and a 5MP depth sensor.
I would have preferred a telephoto lens over the depth or macro lens.
The device comes equipped with a huge Battery 5,260 mAh – same as the Mi Note 10, along with 30W fast charging support through USB Type-C port . It means that you can fully charge your device in about 64 minutes. You'll also find an IR receiver, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom, and an under-display fingerprint sensor.
Price and availability of the Mi Note 10 Lite
The Mi Note 10 Lite is priced at 349 euros, for the 6GB + 64GB variant. While the 6GB + 128GB will be worth 399 euros in the European market.
This 00 mobile phone will be available in three color combinations namely Glacier White, Midnight Black and Nebula Purple. It will go on sale sometime in mid-May, but may be delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
