Google Messages has become the latest app from the American tech giant, which has reached the milestone of one billion installs on the Play Store.
Many of the other Google applications, such as YouTube, Search, Gmail, Maps, Chrome and Drive, have long achieved that distinction. This makes this achievement even more remarkable as Messages is the only app on that list, which is not part of the company's GMS (Google Mobile Services) package.
This means that most manufacturers do not necessarily preinstall on your devices. It is not a native Android app.

Long considered one of the best texting apps in the Android ecosystem, Google Messages comes with a number of exciting features that make it a must-have for many Android users.
The app received support for RCS messaging last year, and since then Google has added a number of new features to the software, to give users a more secure messaging experience.
One such feature, called verified SMS, helps users confirm the true identity of the company sending them text messages, while there's also a new real-time spam detection algorithm, which protects users from text messages. unwanted and potentially unsafe.
