At the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event in San Francisco, Samsung launched its latest lineup of flagship mobile phones. The Serie Galaxy S20 succeeds last year's Galaxy S10 series, starting the decade off on the right foot.
The South Korean giant has ditched those prices for the more affordable Galaxy S10e this year. Instead, it appears to be following Apple's lead in streamlining its lineup and has unveiled three new devices: the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra.
The Galaxy S20 is now the base variant, which is compared to the iPhone 11, instead of what could have been called the Galaxy S20e. Samsung for the first time introduced a high-end "Ultra" variant in the mix this time.
If you are wondering what the 3 different variants of the Galaxy S20 look like and how they differ from each other, here are the technical specifications that we have compiled:
Galaxy S20 vs S20 Plus vs S20 Ultra: Comparison of technical specifications
In the field of dimensions, we already see where the shots are going with the Galaxy S20 and especially with its Ultra model.
Brick-sized dimensions, 6,9-inch screen and 120 Hz and weighing 222 grams, many buyers will think twice before putting that in their pocket, and of course getting more than 1300 euros out of it.
Then in terms of processor, RAM, cameras, etc, things change. And it is that we are facing one of the best phones of 2020 and also one of the most expensive.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is expensive, but what about having 16 GB of RAM? I am amazed with higher specifications than some gaming laptops.
I don't want to think about how games work on the Galaxy S20 Ultra like the Fortnite o Free Fire.
While Samsung's new flagship comes loaded with many obvious hardware and performance upgrades, the buzzwords for 2020 are screen refresh rate and 5G.
Amoled and 120 Hz refresh
All three devices come equipped with 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED displays and high-speed 5G internet connectivity. However, Samsung will also sell non-5G variants.
Cameras is another major area of improvement where Samsung has introduced a 108MP wide-angle lens on the S20 Ultra. In addition, the S20 series is capable of recording videos at 8K resolution. Samsung has partnered with YouTube to provide an easy way to upload those UHD videos to YouTube.
To power the devices, Samsung is using its homemade 990nm+ Exynos 7 SoC for the global variants of the Galaxy S20 (6.2-inch), S20+ (6.7-inch), and S20 Ultra (6.9-inch). Meanwhile, as expected, the variants sold in the US will be powered by the 7nm+ Snapdragon 865.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 will be on sale from March 6. They will be available in Cosmic Grey, Cosmic Black, Cloud Blue and Cloud Pink color options.

Galaxy S20 vs S20 Plus vs S20 Ultra: Which variant will you choose?
From the Samsung Galaxy S20 technical specifications table, you can see that each of the Galaxy S20 variants includes almost all the features you want from a high-end mobile phone.
With a perforated screen, a set of portentous chips (Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990), support 5G, some amazing camera features, a huge battery, wireless charging, an IP rating, and much more.
Samsung seems to have outdone itself by launching a camera-focused mobile phone this year. Which I'd say is a smart move considering Huawei (known to have the upper hand when it comes to mobile phone cameras) is out of the picture in the US.
So which of the three Galaxy S20 variants manages to catch your imagination? We really want to test the 100x Spatial Zoom feature.
