El Samsung Galaxy S10 is undoubtedly one of the smartphones most anticipated that are to come in the year 2019. At the moment we only know rumors about it, but everything indicates that we are going to find quite a few new features at its launch. Apparently and according to these rumors, the change could be radical, both in design, as in name and technology.
A major change in design, 5G connection and fingerprint reader on the screen, are some of the novelties that we may find, in addition to others that we comment on below.
Samsung Galaxy S10, rumors, leaks and news
Changes in the design of the Galaxy S10
The main change that we can find in the Samsung Galaxy S10 It will have as far as design is concerned, an increase in the screen ratio.
In recent years, there is a lot of trend towards borderless smartphones. Already in the S9 we could see how the screen occupied 83% of the front of the phone, a figure only surpassed by mobile phones like the Huawei P20 Pro or the Oppo Find X. But Samsung wants to be the manufacturer with the best use, and this will be noticeable in the design of its next star mobile.
On the side, we could find the power buttons, volume up and down, as usual. But what is more striking is that it could have direct access to the Bixby assistant on one of the sides, which seems to be trying to revalue itself.
Power of the Samsung Galaxy S10
Important details of what is expected in terms of hardware of the Samsung Galaxy S10, it could incorporate the new Snapdragon main processor:
- Chip Snapdragon 855
- 8 GB of RAM
We have an idea of what the Samsung Galaxy S10 could do, as it is said to be using the Snapdragon 855 (at least in some regions). It is said to be a 7nm chipset, which is smaller and probably more powerful and efficient than the Snapdragon 845 found in many of the flagships from different brands in 2018.
The 855 is also rumored to be capable of supporting theoretical download speeds of up to 2Gbps, compared to the Galaxy S1,2's 9Gbps, though don't expect similar speeds in the real world. Still, it could be a huge improvement.
Just like RAM, since Samsung has announced that it has developed an 8GB RAM chip built on a 10nm process. This, although not confirmed for the Galaxy S10, apparently has 1,5 times the data transmission speed of current flagship RAM chips and can also reduce power consumption by up to 30%. As in the Galaxy S9, there could be a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, more vitaminized.
Samsung Galaxy S10 or Samsung Galaxy X
We have also heard that Samsung could change the name of the range, launching the next model as the Samsung Galaxy X instead of the Galaxy S10. That may sound unlikely, but Koh Dong-jin, the head of Samsung's mobile division, has been heard saying that "we've been thinking about whether we need to keep the S moniker or the numbering system," so it's possible.
5G connection on the Samsung S10
Right now the internet connection 4G It is the most common that we use most. But very soon he 5G could begin to be part of our lives. And Samsung wants its Galaxy S10 to be the first phone to let us use this standard.
What 5G offers is, as we can imagine, a higher speed when connecting to the network. At the moment we practically do not find any operator that offers it worldwide, because it is in an initial phase and in tests. But if you decide to buy an S10, you will have the peace of mind of being able to use it as soon as it is available.
Fingerprint reader on the screen
El fingerprint reader scanners (fingerprint scanner) has become commonplace in mid-range and high-end smartphones in recent years.
Until now, the two options that we used to find in this regard were either the front reader or the rear reader. But the Samsung Galaxy S10 may no longer be the first to carry the fingerprint reader integrated directly into the screen. This would go very well with the all-screen design that's being tipped for the phone, and would see the Galaxy S10 follow in the footsteps of the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS and Vivo Nex.
One report claims that it will use an ultrasonic scanner from Qualcomm and that Samsung has felt compelled to include it because both Vivo and Huawei have phones with in-display scanners.
Something that would be especially comfortable for the user, although at the moment it is only a rumor that has not been verified.
An improved 3D facial scanner
Multiple independent sources indicate that Samsung will try to ditch the iris scanning technology in the Galaxy S10, in favor of an improved 3D facial scanner, much like the one found in the iPhone X.
An earlier rumor also talks about an on-screen scanner. While an on-screen scanner was not ready in time for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, would be ready sometime next year, making the Samsung Galaxy S10 a candidate for one.
Samsung Galaxy S10 release date and price
The launch date of the Samsung Galaxy S10 will probably be in early 2019. We will probably see it at MWC 2019, which will take place from February 25 to 28. Not only is a rumor claiming we'll see it then, but Samsung announced the new Galaxy S9 at MWC 2018, making the 2019 schedule the most likely release date.
Samsung doesn't always announce its flagship Galaxy S at Mobile World Congress, but all the recent models have been announced in the first few months of the year, so we'd be surprised if we don't already have the Samsung Galaxy S10 by the end of March 2019.
Although it could arrive earlier, as we will see it in January at CES 2019, if the rumors that are circulating are to be believed. This happens between January 8 and 11, but it seems too early for such a major announcement, so we'll take this particular Galaxy S10 rumor with a bit of caution.
Of course, whenever a new Samsung smartphone model is announced, you may not be able to buy it right away.
When it goes on sale, the price will be heart attack again. There is still no rumor about the price of the Samsung Galaxy S10, but the Galaxy S9 was launched at 849 euros, while the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus went on sale for 949 euros. It is to be expected that the Galaxy S10 range cost at least that much when it goes on sale.
