Realme watch with 1.4-inch screen and heart rate monitoring

Realme marked its entry into the wearable space with the launch of Realme Band earlier this year. Now, after months of rumours, the Chinese giant has unveiled the long-awaited Realme Watch in India.

It features a color screen, a host of sport modes, proprietary software, music controls, and much more.

Realme Watch: specifications and features

When you take a first look at the Realme watchIt looks like a smart watch for kids. But don't worry, it isn't and it has more features than you might expect in this price range. Realme Watch features a polycarbonate construction with a metallic finish.

It has a single button with a thin yellow stripe on the right and silicone straps to round out the design. Realme will only offer straps with a traditional clasp at the moment, but straps with a modern clasp are coming soon.

Speaking of the screen, Realme Watch packs a 1.4-inch TFT LCD screen with 320 x 320 resolution and up to 380 nits of brightness. The screen comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. There's also a Realme logo below the screen if you haven't noticed, but it's barely noticeable. You will have to tilt the watch at a certain angle to see it.

The Realme Watch will be combined with the Realme Link app, the same as the fitness band, to give you access to 12 ready-to-use watch faces. However, you can only keep six faces on the watch, due to storage limitations. realme plans add 100+ watch faces with upcoming OTA update.

Realme Watch is powered by the company's proprietary software instead of Google's Wear OS, whose market share (currently around 4%) is shrinking by the day. This is the company's first attempt at a smartwatch OS, so we'll have our hands on it to find out just how good it is.

However, you do have access to many features, including notification support for calls (allows you to mute or end calls) and apps (such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, and more).

usted can't answer calls on Realme Watch due to the lack of a microphone and speaker. Most of your activity logs are now directly accessible through the watch. You don't need to open Realme Link to see your heart rate chart, activity details, or even sleep monitoring information.

music controls realme watch

In addition to all this, Realme Watch also quickly offers you access to music controls and a shutter button. This means you don't need to pick up your phone to change tracks or adjust the volume. Also, it will be easy to click solo or group selfies with the shutter button on the watch.

Realme Watch supports up to 14 sports modes, including Outdoor Running, Walking, Indoor Running, Outdoor Cycling, Aerobic Fitness, Strength Training, Soccer, Basketball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Indoor Cycling , elliptical machine, Yoga and Cricket. There is no GPS, therefore the smartwatch relies on the phone to map your activity.

Heart rate and sleep monitoring

the clock comes equipped with a PPG sensor by Goodix It allows you to monitor your heart rate and Realme Watch will send you high and low heart rate alerts. The watch is set to capture your heart rate at 5-minute intervals by default, but you can enable continuous heart rate tracking.

In addition to your heart rate, the watch also allows you to monitor sleep and blood oxygen saturation levels. All of this data will be available on the watch, which can connect via Bluetooth 5.0 to your phone.

Realme Watch is waterproof and dustproof IP68, which means you can wear it for swimming without any problem.

The watch packs a 160mAh battery and Realme claims you can get up to seven days of battery life with the heart rate monitor on. You can extend this up to twenty days if you enable power saving mode, but it will disable a lot of features.

Realme Watch: price and availability

Realme Watch has a price of about 48 euros, undermining the new Amazfit Bip S.

EThis smartwatch comes with interchangeable straps in four colors, including black, blue, red, and green. You can collect them separately. Realme Watch, with the standard black strap, will go on sale from June 5 on Flipkart and Realme's official website.
