Motorola Edge Plus with 108MP camera set to launch on April 22

The Motorola Edge Plus is just around the corner. Motorola has been rumored to be working on a flagship mobile phone for quite some time. We have seen numerous leaks of a Motorola phone with a waterfall display in recent months.

Now, in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Motorola has confirmed the upcoming launch of its new flagship mobile phone on April 22.

Motorola's official US Twitter account shared a video announcement for the upcoming new, more powerful phones last night. These are rumored to be the Motorola Edge Plus and Edge, and they were expected to be unveiled for the first time at MWC 2020 in February.

The COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown have also forced Motorola to hold an online event next week, to finally unwrap both smartphones.

Taking a quick look at the rumored specs, the Motorola Edge+ is expected to feature a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ display with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 and a refresh rate of 90Hz. You can easily see from the teaser video that Edge+ will feature a curved screen on both edges.

Motorola Edge + processor, cameras, battery and Android 10

Motorola Edge+ will be powered by the Snapdragon chipset 865, along with up to 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There is rumored to be a 5,000mAh battery and it also has Android 10.

The cameras will probably be the highlight of the Motorola Edge Plus and that's thanks to a 108MP primary sensor On the rear, the triple camera system will also include a 16MP and 8MP ultra-wide telephoto lens to round out the flagship.

The hole cutout in the screen will be home to a 25MP selfie camera, according to leaks.

It is rumored that this smartphone is accompanied by a low-end Edge variant (minus the plus) which will be powered by the Snapdragon 765 chipset. This means that the Motorola Edge series will have 5G connectivity on board. The non-Plus variant is rumored to feature the same design but slightly lower specs.

The Motorola Edge series will initially launch in the US. There is currently no news of a launch in other countries, but we can expect it to arrive in a couple of months.
