Instagram recently started showing suggestions for stop following with “People you interact with the least” and “Most shown in feed” categories to weed out people you no longer interact with.
The company has now started gradually rolling out a similar feature called Follower Categories, to clean up your list of followers.
Instagram now lets you unfollow accounts you care about
People with whom you interact the least
You will see two categories in your Instagram Followers section, namely "Accounts you don't follow" y “People you interact with the least”.
The first category shows you the list of accounts that follow you, but you don't follow them. This could be extremely useful if you are interested in getting rid of strangers that you no longer want to share your social life with.
Next, we have the much-needed “Least Interaction With” category. Yes, Instagram has finally taken steps to allow you to remove those unwanted ghost followers from your profile. According to Instagram, the feature lists the accounts you've interacted with the least in the last 90 days.
To access the categories of followers, all you have to do is simply open your instagram app, go to your profile y tap Followers.
The feature is gradually being rolled out to Android and iOS users via a server-side update. The feature is live on Android and almost every other Android phone on the market, while it was missing from some iPhones.
If your phone doesn't have the feature, hopefully you'll get it in the next few weeks. Regardless, Instagram is finally adding much-needed features that many of us would benefit from to get rid of unwanted instagramers.
