Gboard it is one of the home keyboards for android users. The reason it became one of the most popular keyboards is because of the sheer level of customization features it offers. From swipe to type to using Google search directly from the keyboard app, it offers all kinds of ways to enhance your typing experience.
And now, according to a thread on Reddit, Google has rolled out a new feature for Gboard that suggests custom emoji stickers, based on the emoji you type.
Custom emoji suggestion
Now what is this new feature? Well, the custom emoji suggestion feature is similar to a feature that is present on Telegram.
When using Gboard, every time you type an emoji, a new suggestion bar will appear at the top of the keyboard. This bar will contain animated stickers related to the emoji you just typed.
Momentarily, this suggestion bar is working for some users, but for many others, it is not working at all. Installed the latest beta version of GBoard on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, but we couldn't get this to work.
Another user commented that it only works on a few specific apps, like Facebook Messenger and Snapchat.
So we tried it on the Messenger app, but still, it didn't work.
Perhaps Google released this feature for some specific devices, probably the Pixel series. But if a user finds this feature and it is working for him, most likely it will be released to the official version soon.
You can see the Reddit thread here and if you want, you can install the latest beta version of Gboard on your mobile to try it out. Who knows, it might work for you.
