El iPhone XS just been introduced. It has caused a real sensation among most of the media and Apple fans.
But many users like the Android operating system better than the one with the bitten apple. Therefore, many of us would be delighted with one thing. If only some of the features of the iPhone XS were on Android mobile devices. Let's see…
What Android should copy from the iPhone XS
In an article we recently published, we talked about the best Android alternatives, if you don't want an iPhone. Now we are going to see what new or renewed functions of the brand new iPhone XS, should be introduced in high-end Android phones, at least.
Face ID
It is true that many Android mobiles have introduced the facial recognition in recent months. But the reality is that what Apple offers goes one step further. For starters, because it's much faster. And also because it offers support for additional applications. Thus, we can authorize payments with Apple Pay or use 1Password with just a glance.
Further refinement of facial recognition for Android mobiles. That would be a very good way to improve high-end devices.
Face ID still trumps any face unlock system on Android for one big reason: app support.
Unlocking the phone with your face still takes a bit longer compared to a fingerprint sensor. But when you're already actively using the phone, face verification makes a lot of sense for apps like Apple Pay, etc.
Google has not yet created a facial verification system that can act as a method of unlocking apps. Until that day comes, Face ID will remain the leader when it comes to facial recognition.
iPhone XS Taptic Engine
This little engine can be found inside the new iPhone. And it allows us to perform different actions depending on the strength with which we press the touch screen. This offers numerous possibilities to application developers. No Android phone has ever offered it, and it's an improvement that shouldn't be long in coming.
Bionic chip A12
It is Apple's policy not to allow mobiles from other brands to use its own creation parts. Therefore, the chances that these chips come to Android are almost nil, although dreaming is free. This new chip allows graphics to load up to 50% faster. In this way, practically half of the resources are consumed.
Camera with manual depth of field control
We already know that a mobile camera never replaces a SLR. But it is true that they are getting closer to that quality. And proof of this is that the new iPhone XS allows you to control the depth of field. With this we get photographs to be taken completely manually.
A more efficient notch
Since the iPhone X was introduced last year, almost all brands have tried to bring out their star mobile equipped with the notch. But the reality is that in all Android mobiles that have it, there is a small fence around it that makes it a little less effective than expected.
Some devices like OnePlus 6 and Essential Phone have notches that are considerably smaller than those on the iPhone X. But there is one thing Android phones with an "eyebrow" have that the iPhone X and XS don't. And it's a chin or forehead at the bottom of the screen.
The purpose of the notch is to give you more screen vision or infinity display and get rid of traditional bezels. Apple is able to achieve this by curving part of its screens below themselves. The end result is still perfect. For whatever reason, Android makers haven't quite pulled this off yet.
Some phones like the Pixel 3 XL try to justify the notch and chin with dual forward-facing speakers. But seeing as the iPhone XS packs in stereo sound without a chin, that argument starts to break down pretty quickly.
Only Apple has managed to leave the notch solely for its main use.
