How to connect your smartphone to television

Do you need to connect your mobile phone to your TV? If you download movies or series, if you want to watch YouTube videos on the big screen or if you just want to play games at full size, the best way to do it is by connecting your Android mobile or your tablet to TV. There are two ways to do it, via Wi-Fi or with the help of a HDMI cable.

Whichever method you choose, it's a fairly simple process that won't take too long.

Two methods to connect your Android to TV

Using an HDMI cable

This is the easiest method, as you will only need an HDMI cable. It will depend on the type of mobile device, some already have the micro HDMI port, but in other cases, it will be necessary to use an MHL MicroUSB to HDMI converter, like the one in the image above, which costs about 8 euros.

You will only have to connect the cable to your Android and to the TV, and search for the HDMI source with the TV remote. Once done, you will have the screen of your smartphone or tablet on the TV and you will be able to see games, apps, videos and your favorite content, on the big screen.

Via Wi-Fi

To be able to connect your smartphone with the TV wirelessly, two things are necessary. First of all, your TV must have Wi-Fi option, something that we find practically in any SmartTV today. And on the other hand your phone must also have multi screen function. If you are sure that you have both options, you will only have to follow the following steps:

1. Through your TV source, look for the wireless display option.
2. Start the multi-screen option on your smartphone. Once inside, your terminal will start searching for other devices that are connected to the WiFi network through this function. Here you must select your TV.
3. Once the two devices recognize each other, the screen of your smartphone will appear on the TV.

There are also some apps where you won't need to follow these steps, because they can connect to the TV automatically. This happens with numerous video and image applications, such as YouTube or the gallery of your terminal.

In these applications you will find an icon with two screens connecting or one screen and one WiFi signal. By clicking on this button, you can find all the devices connected to your network. You will have to choose your television and the app in question will appear on the screen.
