Android 11 is bringing a lot of changes to how things will work. Android as we know it has changed significantly in recent years. Gone are the days when we never imagined that a single video recorded through the phone would be as large as 4GB. However, ever since Android mobile phones started supporting 4K recording, that has become a reality.
Sadly, Android's options limit recording to just 4GB, and when it comes to 4K, you don't get much at 4GB to begin with.
Fortunately, with Android 11, this limitation is finally gone. AndroidPolice has discovered that Android 11 Beta 1 does not have that limitation. However, as of this writing, no apps support it. So, we are going to wait and see more and more apps that support this.
Android 11 removes video size limitation, will allow users to record larger videos in individual files
As stated above, the feature is already present in Android 11 Beta 1, but it is currently not working. It is safe to say that developers also need to update their respective camera apps so this one will work without any issues.
The source tried this using Google Camera (the standard camera app) but that didn't work and the files were still splitting. However, when using Open Camera to record videos, it was found that videos larger than 4GB were being recorded. So there is a chance that more apps will support it right now and once this feature becomes widely available, more and more apps will support it as well.
Actually, it's good to see that Google no longer limits the video recording size to 4GB. This will allow many aspiring film directors who use their phones to capture videos to have a seamless video capture experience.
Currently, only Open Camera supports this feature. But we are sure that there are more camera apps that are supported as well.
