Several smartphone companies have commented on their intentions to launch 100W chargers to speed up the charging process. But the reality is that at the moment none has been launched to carry it out. Xiaomi has now taken the first step towards that point, launching a wireless charger with a power of 80W, which makes charging much faster.
With an 80W charger, it is possible to charge a mobile with a battery up to 4000 mAh in just 19 minutes. No more spending more than an hour waiting for our smartphone to be fully charged. What's more, in just 8 minutes we can have our device's battery at 50%, which will make it available for several hours.
This represents a qualitative leap compared to the last launch of the 50W wireless charger that Xiaomi launched last August. This device allowed us to charge our smartphone in a few 40 minutes, while now that time is reduced by half.

Another attraction of the new charger that the Chinese brand has presented is that it is completely wireless. This is not exactly a novelty, since numerous chargers from this and other manufacturers no longer required that the mobile be plugged in. But it is an added comfort when it comes to charging our phone more easily. The difference from current chargers that we are used to is quite large.
When will Xiaomi fast charge arrive
The Chinese brand is not expected to launch any high-end smartphones in the coming months. Therefore, we are not expected to start finding these chargers until 2021.
But the fact that an official presentation of this technology has already been made makes us think that its arrival should not be too far away.
