There is no denying that Huawei is still facing a difficult time due to Google's ban on using its Android services. But that doesn't mean the mobile phone giant doesn't want to release anything that might surprise users. The Huawei P50 series is set to launch sometime this year, and today, we get our hands on the first look at the Huawei P50 Pro, and well, it's just as crazy as I would have imagined.
Huawei P50 Pro renders show the phone from every angle and raise some questions
The renders were shared by Steve Hemmerstoffer aka @OnLeaks, and considering his history, we can guarantee that these renders are as authentic as previous ones, and this is what the phone will look like. The most interesting aspect of these renders is the strange appearance of the camera on the rear; you can see yourself.
2 Crater on the back of the Huawei P50
The highlight on show here is that big camera bump on the back, and based on rumours, we've heard that the Huawei P50 Pro will ship with a 1-inch sensor, which will be the largest sensor in a android mobile phone. It's possible that this weird camera bump is there to accommodate a sensor in the first place.
Hemmerstoffer commented on how there could be multiple lenses housed within that black disc on the back. However, at the moment, we can't be sure what is what, as the renders don't show us the phone with the disk retracted.
Another interesting find here is that the Huawei P50 Pro appears to have an IR emitter on top, just like the P40 series. This is interesting as infrared blasters have become a relic of the past, but Huawei seems to still be using them. Unfortunately, there is no 3,5mm jack, so whoever buys this phone soon will have to live without it.
The Huawei P50 Pro will also ship without Google Apps, including the Google Play Store. There are rumors that this phone will launch with HarmonyOS, which, again, is just Android 10 with a lot of customization.
