The arrival of new format on LinkedIn. Soon we will enjoy vertical and short videos on its platform, just like the TikTok feed but in this case oriented to the world of work. Let's see what this new tool will be like that aims to increase user interaction on your network.
The “TikTok format” will come to LinkedIn to increase interactions
LinkedIn's annual user growth is slowing compared to previous years. And not only is it seeing a smaller increase in users, but there is also a lower participation within your network, according to data from the platform itself.
The user engagement rate on LinkedIn has decreased significantly and the emergence of other social platforms such as TikTok has captured the attention of these users. At least this is what we can make clear from the latest strategy of the labor platform par excellence.
And that is why many users have seen the new format on LinkedIn. The platform is going to renew its news feed adapting it to the TikTok platform, with videos in vertical format and of shorter duration. Specifically, the duration of the videos will be a maximum of 30 seconds, as we learned thanks to a post by Austin Null.
In it we see a video of how a new tab appears within the platform app. This tab is called "Videos" and will allow you to go from one video to another simply by moving your finger up. This change aims to recover user interaction within the platform, specifically you can like a video, leave a comment or share it with other users.
Changes will come to LinkedIn motivated by the new DMAs in Europe
Linkedin, which can have direct communication with WhatsApp and is one of the called guardians by the European commission in charge of the WFDs, you will face many changes because it is considered a company with enormous power on the internet.
These changes are given by the new Digital Markets Law, which force the platform to be more transparent and offer interoperability with other services. This means that LinkedIn has to commit to being more transparent with user data or how its discovery and recommendation algorithm works.
Justly This change favors the discovery of new content creators as the new “Videos” feed is designed to both drive user engagement and optimize discovery on the platform. In the words of Austin Null himself, “This will change the way we create content here.”
Although this new functionality has already appeared to many LinkedIn users, it is not yet available to everyone. We understand that This novelty is in the testing phase and we will have to wait to see if we will definitely have a new video feed on LinkedIn.
